Freemasonry is
$52K for Westmead Children's hospital

Lodge Woollahra and the Grand Master with the help of the Masonicare donated $26,000 to the Westmead Childrens Hospital on the day of their 2019 Radiothon when the hospital had a sponsor matching every donation dollar for dollar. Which effectively means the Childrens hospital recieved $52,000 because of our donation.

With months of planning involved, Lodge Woollahra held a charity night on 12 of October just 6 days before Westmead Childrens hospital held their Radiothon. This was by no coincidence. Bro Mark Annesley of lodge Woollahra had been in talks with the hospital and knew that if a donation was made on the day of the Radiothon it would be matched dollar for dollar.

There was a raffle and an auction on the night which helped raise the amount of money the lodge was able to donate. Most of that money came from two special donations which were auctioned. The first was a signed boxing glove from Mohammed Ali with a certificate of authenticity. And the second a signed Peter Brock jacket and original signed photos from the day of the race at Bathurst when that jacket was personally gifted to Bro Charlie Pace.

In a world often dictated by hate and segregation, membership of an organisation capable of uniting men of all religions, colours and even accents is more relevant than ever.
